I’ve had a camera in my hand since I was eight years old. I’ve always been drawn to the way a photograph can hold onto something that otherwise disappears… a face, a feeling, a relationship, a moment you wish you could stay inside just a little longer.

For the longest time, if you asked me what superpower I would choose, my answer was always the same: I’d want to freeze time.

It took me a while to realize that, in a way, that’s exactly what I get to do.

I photograph the things that make us human. Families and motherhood, women finding and celebrating their strength, the connection between people who love each other, and the moments when musicians and performers become completely immersed in what they do.

I also love photographing creative people and the things they make. There is something deeply meaningful to me about someone taking an idea that lived inside them and bringing it into the world. I want to help them tell that story through imagery.

As of recently, I’ve had the opportunity to write music. It’s made me realize that photography and writing are really two versions of the same instinct: to capture something fleeting and tell its story well enough that someone else can feel what was felt in that moment.

That’s what I’m always chasing with a camera.

What it felt like to be there.
